CHILD SAFETY STANDARD

This Child Safety Standard describes how Vivaram protects children and young people on the Services. It works together with our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and Account Deletion and Data Deletion Policy.
1. Purpose
Vivaram is a hyperlocal community information platform. It is intended for a general audience and is not designed for children. This Standard sets out:
- who may use the Services;
- what content and conduct involving children is prohibited;
- how we respond to reports and violations; and
- how users and parents can contact us.
2. Age Requirements
Consistent with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy:

We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from anyone under 18. This aligns with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 in India, which treats individuals under 18 as children for data protection purposes.
Vivaram does not currently collect date of birth or age-verification documents at registration. Age rules rely on user representations. If we learn that a person under 18 has used the Services or that Personal Information of a person under 18 was provided, we will terminate access and delete the Account and associated Personal Information as described in our Privacy Policy.
3. Zero Tolerance for Child Exploitation
The following are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate content removal, permanent Account ban where an Account is involved, and reporting to appropriate authorities where required or warranted:
- any sexual content involving minors (anyone under 18), including imagery, descriptions, or links;
- child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form;
- grooming, sexual solicitation, or attempts to contact children for sexual purposes;
- exploitation, trafficking, or endangerment of children;
- content that sexualizes, objectifies, or endangers minors, even if claimed to be “fiction,” “roleplay,” or “humor.”
There is no warning ladder for these violations.
4. Children’s Privacy and Identification
Users must not post:
- names, photos, school names, home addresses, or other identifying details of children;
- Personal Information about children (including health, location, or family details) without a lawful basis and appropriate care;
- content that could enable others to locate, contact, or harm a child.
Parents and guardians should think carefully before sharing information about their own children on a public platform. Community Content may be visible to others and may persist after posting.
5. Bullying, Harassment, and Harmful Content Involving Minors
In addition to our general Community Guidelines, we do not allow:
- bullying, harassment, or humiliation of minors;
- threats or intimidation directed at minors;
- content that encourages self-harm, suicide, or dangerous challenges involving minors;
- graphic violence involving minors posted for shock or exploitation.
Report such content immediately (Section 8). If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
6. How We Enforce
When we become aware of a child-safety violation, we may:
- remove or restrict the content without prior notice;
- suspend or permanently ban Accounts;
- preserve records for investigation, legal compliance, and reporting;
- report to law enforcement, child-protection authorities, or relevant hotlines where required or appropriate;
- refuse future access under our Terms of Service.
Enforcement may combine automated signals and human review. We prioritize child-safety reports.
7. What Vivaram Is Not
- Vivaram is not an emergency service. Contact police, child-protection services, or other authorities for immediate danger.
- Vivaram is not a children’s social network, messaging app, or school platform.
- Vivaram does not currently offer private chat, image/video uploads, or age-gated kids’ modes. If features change, this Standard will be updated.
8. Reporting Child Safety Concerns
In the app: use the report tools on content or Accounts where available.

Include enough detail for us to locate the content (link, screenshot description, approximate time, location on the platform). Good-faith reports help us act quickly. Knowingly false reports are a violation of our Terms.
Parents and guardians: if you believe your child under 18 has used Vivaram, or that Personal Information about your child was collected, contact us at [email protected]. We will act promptly to terminate access and delete the Account and associated Personal Information where appropriate.
9. Legal Alignment
This Standard is designed to support compliance with applicable child-protection and privacy expectations, including:
- Google Play and Apple App Store child-safety and user-data expectations;
- principles under the India Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 regarding children’s data;
- international norms against child sexual abuse material and online exploitation.
We do not claim certifications we do not hold. Practices will evolve as the platform and law evolve.
